Imprimer est la dernière étape d'un long processus. Au début, tout commence par une histoire...
Screen printing is an ancient printing technique that uses a screen (a frame stretched with a thin fabric) as a stencil. Ink is pushed through the open mesh of the screen using a squeegee to reproduce a design onto a substrate (textile, paper, etc.).
Key steps:
1. A stencil is created by blocking certain areas of the screen with a photosensitive emulsion.
2. Place the screen above the material you wish to print.
3. Using our squeegee, we push the ink through the mesh. The ink only passes through where the stencil is open, creating the impression.
At the Manor of Stories, we have chosen to use only water-based inks without solvents or heavy metals in an environmentally friendly approach.
Each color is applied manually, one by one, making each design unique. The colors are more vibrant and deeper than with digital printing and are more durable.
Handcrafted screen printing is a bit like painting with a stencil: each pass of the squeegee deposits a generous layer of color, leaving a unique and vibrant mark.
